Michael Lee-Azad - testimonial
Why did you choose to apply to work at the Audit Office?
The Audit Office had many perks over the other grad programs, such as work-life balance, flexibility, and CA/CPA course support.
How have you found working at the Audit Office?
Fantastic! It’s very easy to approach managers about flexible work times.
The workplace culture is great here – being ReClub president showed me a lot and allowed me to interact with staff from across the office.
What types of clients have you worked with?
My main clients were NSW Health, NSW Ombudsman, Shoalhaven and Wollongong City Councils.
What is your favourite part about the work you do?
Working with my team. All my experiences here have been positive. Staff are receptive, welcoming, and I always feel free to ask as many questions as I like.
What do like most about the office culture?
The events! There are so many events celebrating diversity such as Eid, Lunar New Year, NAIDOC week, Harmony Day, and various awareness events. These events bring the whole office together. The Office Forum is also a great way to recognise and inform staff, and also brings people together.
How has the Audit Office supported you in your study?
My mentor and audit leaders are so helpful and always checking in with me.
We receive three days before our exams as study leave and have the option to use flex days if needed, which makes life a lot easier!
Anything else you’d like to add?
The experience and exposure across different industries and sectors, city and rural, was invaluable. The Audit Office sets you up for your future, no matter what direction it may take.
I also need to mention the innovative design of the office! I love the natural light and greenery, it makes such a difference.
