Why did you choose to apply to work at the Audit Office?

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do after university, so I applied for all sorts. Then I came across the Audit Office website and I knew that this was something I could believe in. We make an impact, we raise issues and we make a difference.

How have you found working at the Audit Office?

I love working here. I have a great team that have become my friends. My mentors challenge and support me by assigning tasks that I may not have expertise in, so that I continue to learn.

What types of clients have you worked with?

My main clients are Transport for NSW and State Transit Authority, who run the Sydney buses. It’s been fascinating to go behind the scenes with such an important client who are constantly in the public eye. It’s also really rewarding seeing news articles and knowing that you helped in their findings and the changes that will come from them.

What is your favourite part about the work you do?

The people! I really appreciate the support I get, and also the flexibility of work. 

What do like most about the office culture?

I love the patience and helpfulness that I have experienced from senior staff, who aren’t just focused on getting work done, but also on ensuring that I grow. Our hot desking allows us to meet people outside our immediate teams which brings the organisation together. We are also a very social bunch and partake in a lot of activities and event which are lots of fun!

How has the Audit Office supported you in your study?

Having time to study, having a mentor who really cares for my growth and development, and having an intake who are on the same journey. The Audit Office helps you succeed, which fills you with confidence to achieve.
