Industry 2017

The Acting Auditor-General, Ian Goodwin, released his report today on the results of the financial audits of NSW Government entities in the Industry cluster. The report focuses on key observations and findings from the most recent audits of these entities.

'Unqualified audit opinions were issued for 44 out of 48 financial statements presented for audit with four audits incomplete', the Acting Auditor-General said. 'While there were ongoing improvements in the preparation of financial statements across the cluster, some agencies need to be more timely with their financial reporting'.

The report notes that TAFE NSW will continue to incur extra costs each year to produce reliable financial information due to deficiencies in its student administration system. TAFE NSW plans to replace its Student Administration and Learning Management system in 2018-19 at an estimated cost of $89 million.
