John was appointed Assistant Auditor-General Financial Audit in October 2007.
In this role, his responsibilities include some of the Office’s largest and most complex financial audits, including the Total State Sector Accounts and NSW Treasury.
John is also responsible for the professional management of Financial Audit, including audit methodology and practice, quality assurance and staff development.
John joined the Audit Office in 1996, after 18 years in the private sector. These included nine years with a ‘Big 4’ accounting firm, where he was responsible for delivering audit services to clients in Australia and Africa.
