How Do I Apply?
Search for opportunities at the Audit Office
Visit Current Vacancies to look for opportunities. You will click into our job application portal, where you will find more detailed information about specific requirements in the role advertisement. Click ‘Apply Now’ to work through the application process. You can also create a profile in the system, however if a role has been advertised you must also apply directly for it. A profile is searchable by our recruiters and can be completed if there are no suitable vacancies when you search for roles.
Before lodging an application please read the specific instructions in the role advertisement. This will tell you whether you need to do some pre-work before completing your application form. We may ask you for an up-to-date resume, cover letter or claim against the position to address specific criteria in a separate document. Ensure you prepare your documents before applying. The application form and candidate profile take about 30 minutes to complete. You can save your application at any point and return to it if necessary. We’ll let you know when we receive your information and the next steps as soon as possible.
You may be requested to complete a psychometric or ability test or a range of selection exercises. When being asked to complete selection exercises we’ll send you the instructions you’ll need in advance via email. Activities are selected based on the requirements for each vacancy and will be pitched at the level of the role in question. The most important thing to remember when completing selection activities is to be yourself and give yourself enough time to be able to focus on the activity.
Prepare for the interview
If you are invited for an interview think about what you want to tell us about yourself including relevant work experience. We want to get to know you as an individual and discover your strengths and attributes. Interviews are for both parties to assess if you're likely to succeed at the Audit Office. Be prepared with some questions to ask us, for example, about the scope of the role, our expectations and our vision for how we could work together.
Complete the assessment process
We'll interview you at our head office in the Sydney CBD. The exact structure and content of the interview will depend on the role you are applying for, as different roles require different skills. We'll keep in touch and provide you with feedback and guidance on the next steps.
Review our offer
If you successfully complete the interview and selection process, we'll make you a formal offer in writing subject to reference checks. You'll have the opportunity to ask any questions and, if you're happy with the offer, we'll look forward to receiving your confirmation and welcoming you on board.

You'll find a dedicated community of people at the Audit Office ready to welcome you. After an initial structured induction on your first day, you'll have opportunities to network with your peers and to participate in ongoing orientation programs suited to your level of experience.
