Our Performance Audit Program
Performance audits assess whether agencies are effectively carrying out an activity or activities and doing so economically and efficiently and in compliance with the law.
This program was developed taking into account the Premier’s priorities and State priorities set out in 'NSW – Making it Happen', and covers the activities of the ten clusters responsible for delivering these priorities.
It was informed by extensive consultation with key stakeholders, including the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, Department Secretaries and the integrity agencies.
We expect the 2016-17 part of the program to be largely implemented. Topics for subsequent years will change as we undertake annual reviews and consultation.

Our Financial Audit Program
The immediate purpose of our financial audits is to provide an independent opinion on the annual financial statements prepared by each public sector agency. We also report to parliament on issues relating to each of the agencies we audit. Each volume may also contain findings from any special reviews.
Making a difference through audit excellence.
To help parliament hold government accountable for its use of public resources.
- Purpose – we have an impact, are accountable and work as a team.
- People – we trust and respect others, and have a balanced approach to work.
- Professionalism – we are recognised for our independence and integrity and the value we deliver.
We won a Gold Award in the 2016 Australasian Reporting Awards.
