Rewards and Benefits
We operate a generous flexible working hours scheme for all staff up to Audit Leader level that compensates for additional hours worked. Up to 24 days flex leave can be taken each year in addition to the standard 20 days recreation leave, with staff eligible to take up to two days flex leave per month with manager approval. To recognise the additional time and effort contributed by financial audit staff during our busiest season, we allow a period of up to 10 flex days during November and December each year.This allows time for rest and recuperation – and to enjoy a longer break during the summer period.
Paid Parental Leave
You will be entitled to 14 weeks paid maternity or adoption leave, or one week's paid 'other parent' leave (subject to minimum service requirements). Maternity, adoption and 'other parent' leave can be taken at full pay or half pay. Requests to return to work from parental leave on a part-time basis and requests to extend parental leave are reasonably considered.
Family and Community Service Leave
Family and Community Service (FACS) leave is available for a range of emergency or personal and domestic circumstances requiring leave.
Leave Without Pay
Would you like to travel, study full time or renovate your house? We support staff in taking career breaks to take time away from work to do something different. We believe everyone has a right to their own reasons for time away from work, and, subject to management approval, we have a history of supporting all reasonable requests.

We aim to promote a flexible work culture by assisting our people to balance their work and personal responsibilities through the availability of a range of flexible working arrangements including part-time work, compressed hours and working from home. Our ReClub is one of the oldest in Australia, and organises a range of sporting and social activities, including an annual dinner, harbour cruise, golf day, happy hours, discounted movie tickets, fundraising events and much more. These activities give staff the opportunity to interact socially with staff from all areas and levels in the Audit Office. The Auditor-General is the patron of the club and attends most events.
